Greetings, Friends of The Giver!

We have just concluded this year's orphanage visit to Panti Asuhan Kasih Mulia Sejati.
This orphanage is a Catholic orphanage, located in Bojong Indah area, right across from St. Thomas The Apostle church. The orphanage is managed by the sisters of the Passionist Congregation. The orphanage has 37 children under its care, with 11 caretakers.

The visit preparation started with compiling all of the donations. This year, the Giver has been blessed with a lot of donations coming from friends & families. For more information on our financial report, please refer to our other post which has been posted before this one.

After we compiled the donations, we started to purchase necessities to bring to the orphanage. We purchased:
- kitchen essentials (rice, cooking oil, salt, sugar, etc.)
- new clothes for the babies & infants
- gift packages containing snacks & body towel
- a new Christmas tree with decorations
- lunch boxes for the children, caretakers, & visitors
- ice cream for dessert

On December 24, some of the organizers met to start building the gift packages. We folded the towels and put in all of the snacks.

A total of 40 gift packages were prepared.

December 28 came and we were ready for the event! About 25 people visited the orphanage with the Giver. Unfortunately, most of the children from the orphanage were out on vacation with their foster parents. There were about 10 children who stayed in the orphanage during this holiday season. We started the day by working together moving all of the things we brought into the orphanage.

After that, we sat around in the orphanage's living room to sing and get to know each other. We sang "Hari Ini Kurasa Bahagia" to kick off the event.

The song was followed by a game called Samson & Delilah. The game is played by separating the group into two teams. Each team would then discuss on what character they would pick to stand against the other team. The characters are Samson, Delilah, & The Lion. It's basically a big scale of Rock, Paper, & Scissors. The team who won best out of 3 rounds received a prize.

The children also gave us a performance of the classic Christmas song, Feliz Navidad. The visitors also had the privilege of hearing a solo performance from one of the children!

Right after we watched the performances from the children, The Giver presented the orphanage with a new Christmas tree and decorations. Together with the visitors, the children were very excited to put up the tree and the decorations.

The Christmas tree truly looked great! After decorating the tree, we played a dancing game called "We Walk" where we would dance with our partner while singing and changing partners after every verse.

The lunch was started with a prayer. Then, the children, caretakers, and visitors enjoyed a hearty lunch from Gokana Teppan while chatting with each other.

After lunch, everyone was just chatting with each other. Some of the visitors, took this opportunity to sing together with the children. We sang Aku Anak Raja, I Love You Jesus, as well as some Christmas carols.

Other visitors also took this chance to look at the babies, who were resting upstairs and not partaking in the event. The baby room was off limits to visitors, so we were just looking at the babies from outside of the room.

No meal would be complete without ice cream! The Giver bought chocolate and strawberry flavored ice creams to be distributed to all.

Ice cream on hot weather is the best.

After everyone enjoyed their ice creams, it's time for a surprise! 3 people happened to celebrate their birthdays on the month of December! We suprised them with a Mango Tango cake!

They had no clue!

All of the birthday ladies! We wish you all the best!

The wonderful day had to come to an end. A representative of The Giver presented the donation to one of the sisters.

One of the organizer, Cindy, presented the orphanage with the donation.

It was an unforgettable day. The Giver would like to thank all of those who participated in the event. Those who came, and those who donated, as well as those who prayed for us! We would have not created this event if it wasn't for all of you! Thank you very much and see you on our next event!

Thank you and see you next time!
